AIS Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction (SIGHCI)

AIS SIGHCI is the Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction that is affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Ping Zhang and Fiona Fui-Hoon Nah prepared a proposal that was approved by the AIS council in Spring 2001. SIGHCI then became one of the first six officially sanctioned SIGs announced in ISWORLD in July 2001.

Mission and Purpose

The SIG's mission is twofold:

  • To facilitate the exchange, development, communication, and dissemination of information among AIS members, and
  • To promote research related to human-computer interaction within business, managerial, and organizational contexts among AIS members and to the larger community of practitioners and scholars.

Membership Information

To become an official member of the SIG, you will need to join the Association for Information Systems (AIS) ($85/$50 per year for academic/student), and select to join SIGHCI. The cost for joining the SIGHCI is $10 per year.

If you have any questions regarding joining the SIGHCI or your current memberhsip, please contact our VC for Membership Dr. Tom Roberts at troberts@ku.edu.
